iPhone Only as a Camera

This morning I decided to take my morning walk armed only with my iPhone as a camera.  I was resigned to the fact that I shouldn’t kick myself if I found that killer shot and only had my crappy iPhone camera.  I guess it is like going shooting armed with only a Lomo or Holga.  You’ve got to live with what you get.

It turns out I am quite pleased with how things went.  It was freezing cold, and I was woried about being able to hold the iPhone still while taking a shot, but I did dress warmly.  And, I also used Genius which does image stablization.

Using only iPhone Apps, I edited some of the photos and have posted them on THE BEST CAMERA’s web site.  (Best Camera is an App for the iPhone.  It will post your photos on their web site if you so choose.)  I did not upload EVERY photo, just these three which were my favorites…

Weed

This one was a weed growning by a blue fence.  What more can you ask for?  An orange weed against a blue fence!  I used a combination of Apps on this.  Don’t ask me to regurgetate which ones.  Look back a few days and you can see, I’ve got lost of editing apps.  I just poke at the screen until I see the effect I like.  And, doing that when it is 28-degrees outside doesn’t leave for time taking notes about what App I used.

Erie Canal at Sunrise

This one was all PS Mobile.  Up’d the contrast and saturation to bring out the color.  What a beautiful morning it was.

Erie Canal

Finally, this next one is just a picture of the reflection.  Check out the steam.  I converted this one to B&W.

Reflection on the Water

I’m still waiting for the 4×6s to come back.  I’ll let you know how things look.  (I’m talking about 4×6s from iPhone pics.)
